Ian Laughlin has held senior management and board roles across financial services in Australia, the UK, New Zealand and Hong Kong over several decades. He was Managing Director of Pearl, London Life and NPI in the UK during a period of significant industry change, later chairing the boards of OnePath Life and OnePath General Insurance, and previously serving as Deputy Chairman of APRA, the prudential regulator of banks, insurers and superannuation funds. He has a longstanding interest in risk management and risk culture, with a particular recent focus on how changing social attitudes and norms shape emerging risks for financial services businesses. In recent years he has provided consulting services to boards and senior management
Jayesh Bhana is a qualified actuary and governance professional with more than 20 years’ experience across life and general insurance, reinsurance, banking, superannuation and consulting. His career spans pricing, reserving, capital and risk management, APRA/ASIC prudential compliance and large-scale transformation projects, including the design of cloud-based retirement, actuarial, risk and reporting platforms.
Cary Helenius is a qualified actuary with more than 35 years of experience with a career spanning education, life insurance, superannuation, equity research, investment banking and strategic investor relations. He was formerly an equity partner with JB Were ranking No. 1 in Insurance Market research, and an Executive Director of investment banking with Goldman Sachs JB Were. More recently Cary has been a consultant to ASX listed companies and undertaken research to develop innovative solutions in the retirement, investment and aged care sectors.
